CEO Message

"Greatness is not a destination. It is a continuous journey that never ends."

In that spirit, we proudly announce that The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center has become

And, in honor of our co-founders Dr. Kay Glasser and Betty Schoenbaum, we have renamed our Campus of Caring the

It seems hard to believe that in 2025, we celebrate 35 years of service and impact on our Campus of Caring and within our community. Through the clear vision of our co-founders, Dr. Kay Glasser and Betty Schoenbaum, The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center became a place for diverse human services non-profits to operate side-by-side. By saving our campus agency partners operational dollars through rent abatement and other free-of-charge services, they have more resources to help men, women, and children in need. We think Kay and Betty would be pleased to know that on our Campus today, 16 diverse agencies serve over 36,500 clients through more than 80 total programs.

Kay also believed that the quality of life of Sarasota rests upon the quality of life of its people. Our deep community partnerships and relationships have contributed to this. This includes our role as the sole Sarasota fiscal agent for Season of Sharing of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and the Herald Tribune, and as a 2-1-1 community liaison.

Why ‘Caring Collective’ and Why Now?

Simply, our region’s growth and the abundant needs in our community create opportunities for our organization to provide more and expand our impact. While staying true to our commitment to the human services sector, our Campus of Caring agencies, and our community partnerships, Caring Collective and our evolved mission to achieve better lives and livelihoods for all our neighbors will allow our organization to utilize our expertise and expand our partnerships beyond human services.

Our new name, Caring Collective, recognizes our core value of Caring about non-profits, those in need, and our community, and doing it with others Collectively.

We encourage you to listen to our short video on the home page introducing Caring Collective. Thank you to our board members, campus agencies, donors, community partners, and many others for the privilege of working with you as our next chapter begins. Onward!
