Nonprofits Working Together for Stronger Communities? Look no further than Caring Collective’s Community Benefits Program!
- Some of our neighbors most in need of critical services lack knowledge, understanding, or the technology to apply for them.
- Many compassionate nonprofits, already stretched for time and staff, struggle to provide their clients with hands-on, individual support that can lead to receiving these services.
- Enter Caring Collective to bridge this gap.
Launched in 2024 with philanthropic support, our Community Benefits Program allows nonprofits who meet specific requirements to enter into an agreement with Caring Collective; we now work with 20 partner agencies who can refer clients to us for application and benefits assistance.
In 2025, client referrals resulted in us providing benefits assistance or answers to 264 individuals or families.
Examples of Caring Collective’s advocacy on behalf of partner agency-referred clients include:
- As Helen’s* Alzheimer’s Disease progressed, her husband feared he could no longer provide the care she needed without risking his own health and breaking his promise to her to never place her in a nursing home. We guided him through the complex Medicaid application process. Today, Helen receives essential care, her husband has kept his promise, and she remains in the place she calls home, with dignity.
- A pregnant teenager, Anna*, became estranged from her family and needed Medicaid and SNAP benefits to receive prenatal medical care and proper nutrition. Caring Collective worked with Anna to navigate many complex steps, resulting in her successfully receiving these benefits before her baby’s arrival.
